The Bands Announced Include:
Joe Jordan & The Soul Trio
Just about everywhere you go and anyone you talk to says the same thing…there are so few good pure singers anymore. The likes of Nat King Cole, Donny Hathaway, Marvin Gaye and select greats have been largely replaced with digitally altered vocals and artists with material manufactured for mass market popularity. Where did the singer go who sounds even better in person than on recordings?
The artist who personifies “cool”, whose vocals epitomize “smooth” and who can connect “intimately” with any audience? Just about when you are about to give up looking…you find Joe Jordan.
One listen and Joe reminds us why Nat King, Donny and Marvin are timeless. Why the emergence of gifted “neo-soul”, R&B and Jazz artists like Maxwell, Brian McKnight, Will Downing and KEM are so embraced and beloved. Joe has been a fixture in the Milwaukee, greater Wisconsin and surrounding Midwest cities since he first took to the stage as a high school senior with his band for a local talent contest.
His first two solo projects; “Can You Find Your Soul” and “Let’s Go To That Place” earned Joe Jordan three Wisconsin Area Music Award (WAMI) nominations including “Best R&B/Soul Artist”. Joe Jordan’s recent performances include Tribute Concerts to Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway & Teddy Pendergrass. Joe has also done backup vocals for American Idol vocalist Danny Gokey at Milwaukee Bucks games.
Joe has opened for artists such as Anthony Hamilton, David Sanborn, Angie Stone, Elvis Costello, The Time and Tower of Power. Joe performed sixteen seasons as the Lead vocalist for Streetlife, (streetlifejazzmke.com). A fixture in the Milwaukee Jazz scene and the house band for The Milwaukee bucks.
Joe is also featured on two renowned Streetlife CD projects; “Live at the Red Mill” and “Live at Jazz in the Park”. Joe has been featured on projects from talent greats such as Peter Mac, Chameleon, Christopher’s Project, Edlin Jackson and the incomparable George Braith. Joe Jordan’s commitment is to music and the art of being a consummate performer.
He exhibited this same commitment to the kids that he taught at Frances Starms Discovery Learning Center for 15 years. He strives to share his passion for music, providing opportunities for young inner city boys and girls to perform and grow creatively through music, as well as be a positive role model.
Jordan just finished his fourth CD, It is preceded by Can You Find Your Soul, Let’s Go To That Place, and Songbook Soul. When Joe is not teaching and coaching his students during the day, he’s working on his music, shooting new videos and singing to sold out venues at night.

Altered Five Blues Band
‘Song of the Year’ and ‘Blues Artist of the Year’ Altered Five Blues Band. For 16 years, Altered Five Blues Band has been winning audiences with a swaggering stomp of bruising, barrelhouse grit. According to Downbeat magazine, frontman Jeff Taylor “sings powerfully” and “Jeff Schroedl’s live-wire guitar reaches the high bar of mixed invention and fluidity.” Blues Bytes magazine declares the group features “the funkiest rhythm section outside of Memphis.”
For its fourth album, Charmed & Dangerous, the Milwaukee-based quintet joined forces with Blind Pig Records, one of the world’s premiere blues labels. Produced by multi-Grammy-winner Tom Hambridge, and featuring guests on harmonica and backing vocals, the 13 tracks of original, contemporary blues prove worthy of the recent groundswell of acclaim. American Blues Scene proclaimed the album, “will be making huge waves… one of the year’s best!” The Blues Foundation announced January 9, 2018 the band is nominated for a prestigious Blues Music Award in the category of “Best Emerging Artist Album.”

Charmed & Dangerous delivers blood-pumping blues with a fiery mix of deft songwriting and simmering musicianship. Taylor’s smoldering baritone howls in the opening title track, and breaths fire-and-brimstone on cuts like “On My List to Quit” and “Three Alarm Desire.” The soul-drenched “Eighth Wonder” and scrapyard shuffle “Mint Condition” showcase A5’s songcraft, while “Cookin’ In Your Kitchen” and “If Your Heart Went Public” prove you can still rattle the rafters with pure, stone-cold slow blues. The album’s third track, “Three Forks,” was inspired by legendary Delta bluesman Robert Johnson and features music, adapted with permission, from the seminal classic “Crossroads.” Hambridge also plays drums on all 13 tracks, adding even more energy and authenticity to the record. “Charmed & Dangerous” won Song of the Year at the 2018 Wisconsin Music Awards.
